چکیده

An algorithm to estimate reflection coefficient properties of materials based on code multipath errors is developed and tested in two urban environments. The algorithm extends an existing model that integrates 3D structure models, electromagnetic ray-tracing algorithms, antenna pattern measurements, and receiver tracking loop models to simulate code multipath errors. Instead of using the Fresnel equations to compute reflection coefficients, we utilize a simplified, fixed reflection coefficient model with no incident/reflection angle dependence. In previous model validation work these coefficients were adjusted manually to fit to experimental data. Herein, a minimum least-squares (LS) filter is used to improve upon initial reflection coefficient estimates by comparing experimental and simulated multipath errors. The modeled environments are the University of Colorado (CU) Engineering Center rooftop and the campus of the

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Application of multilayer perceptron neural network and support vector machine for modeling the hydrodynamic behavior of permeable breakwaters with porous core

In this research, the application of multilayer perceptron (MLP) neural networks and support vector machine (SVM) for modeling the hydrodynamic behavior of Permeable Breakwaters with Porous Core has been investigated. For this purpose, experimental data have been used on the physical model to relate the reflection and transition coefficients of incident waves as the output parameters to the wid...

AN Improved UTD Based Model For The Multiple Building Diffraction Of Plane Waves In Urban Environments By Using Higher Order Diffraction Coeficients

This paper describes an improved model for multiple building diffraction modeling based on the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). A well-known problem in conventional uniform theory of diffraction (CUTD) is multiple-edge transition zone diffraction. Here, higher order diffracted fields are used in order to improve the result; hence, we use higher order diffraction coefficients to improve a hy...

A Novel Multipath Estimation and Tracking Algorithm for Urban GNSS Navigation Applications

It is recognized that multipath remains as a dominant source of ranging error in CDMA and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) positioning. Given the limitations of the traditional multipath code delay estimation techniques, this work considers another class of code tracking algorithm wherein the GNSS receive endeavors to characterize the propagation channel by estimating the relative del...
